You may wonder why I'm reading a book and I will forget it a week later! Or you may thought I have read the book and made note but why I'm still can't remember it after a week or a month later!
We already know that our brain has two part, the left and the right one. To memorize things, we must use both part of our brain. However, our right brain always in the "subconscious" or in a "sleep mode" situation. Foremost, our right brain have a special power called long-term memory. To make it awake, you must do some practice, in order to train your brain in a ''conscious mode'' or at least you have to make a balance between your left and your right brain!
First of all, you cannot get any advantage from the words unless you study, understand, comprehend and apply the principles it sets forth. From Napoleon Hill's ''Think and Grow Rich'' book, we cannot read a book if we do not have any idea of the book. To read a book successfully, we must following the step:
-Skimming: It is a technique used to improve one's ability to read quickly. This is to look through the word you don't understand.
-Scanning: It is a technique you often use when looking up a word in the book or dictionary. You search for key words and the rough idea of the book.

-Concentration: You must be in a good environment( for example: library), less or no noise place, and concentrate to read a book. Read it as you consider the book is written for you. Think as it is your friend and you want to hear the story he tell you. Don't read book while listen to music as you may lose your concentration. Always read the book chapter by chapter (if can, read from the preface as it contain some useful tips to help you to read the book) and don't stop until you finished one chapter.
(Complete a chapter before you stop reading!!!)
-In a self-help book, the reader writes the conclusion. You must make a summary of each chapter of the book.
-Have a notepad at your hand. Read with a noteopad at hand, and jot down the things that inspire(inspiring idea) and lighten up your brain. If you don't have notepad, you can jot it down in a rough paper. Or you are reading an e-book, you can open the notepad on your computer or laptop.
-Asking:What does this mean to me? What this paragraph/sentence want to tell you.
What-to & How-to? When and why?
-Underscore / highlight the important notes. If the book is your own, highlight it using the highlight pen. This is because colours help improve our brain memory.
-Make a mindmap. Create a beautiful, creative mindmap as you want to imagine the situation in the story or a non-fiction book as well as you will see it everyday like seeing your fingernail or like eating your lucrative lunch. You also can make small cards to deal with the situation in the story or your scientific book, articles or journals.
-Read it again(for studying), understand and comprehend the information in each paragraph! As the world richest man would not remember the things he done for a few years ago, he will read the book he wrote/read again.
-Last and not least. Identify and memorize the text that are important!
Train your brain efficiently by memorizing song, painting or sketching and playing memory games.
